Demand for project managers for the next 10 years is growing faster than the demand for workers in other professions. Organizations, however, face risks from this range of talent.
PMI-initiated talent analysis points to extraordinary opportunities in job and career growth for project managers in 11 countries. Throughout 2027, project-oriented workforce focused on project management in seven sectors is expected to grow by 33 percent or create about 22 million new jobs.
By 2027, employers will need about 88 million people in project management-focused roles. China and India will represent more than 75 percent of total project management-focused employment. This report shows that project managers make a significant contribution to productivity.
The inadequacy of professional skills could create a risk of about $ 208 billion in GDP in the 10 years studied in the 11 countries surveyed.
